A Much Needed Break...

This weekend I am getting away for a few days to scrapbook with some friends. We've rented a house for the weekend, and will scrap and snack all weekend! It sounds heavenly!

I definitely need the break...I'm getting a little burned out lately all around, and need time to recharge my battery a bit! I'm hoping to get lots of scrapping done since I haven't had a chance to do much lately and I'm way behind! And maybe I'll even get to sleep in a little bit. Hopefully I won't feel too icky and will be able to enjoy the time away!

Mara's First Haircut

Ok, so it wasn't really a haircut. Just a small trim. But it was definitely needed. As you can see, Mara's hair was uneven and hanging in her face. It was driving me nuts! I was too nervous to attempt it on my own, so I enlisted the help of my mom to get the job done on Friday night. It only took a minute, but the results are great!

She was kind of sweaty since it was pretty hot and humid on Friday, but you get the picture!

I'm An Aunt!!

My niece Rylee Paige was born on Sunday, September 6th at 12:14pm. She was 8lbs 10oz, and so sweet and mellow! We went to visit her (and proud Mom and Dad) in the hospital that night. It's my first time being an aunt, so I'm pretty excited! She and Mara are about 16 months apart in age, and she will be just 6 months older than our 2nd baby, so I'm excited about the cousins being close in age and hope they will have lots of fun times together! Mara said "hi!" to her new cousin, but otherwise ignored her - she'll be more interested in her when she's moving and making a bit more noise I'm sure!

Michelle and David took Rylee home on Tuesday, and are settling into life with a new baby! Hopefully I will get a chance to get up to see them very soon!!

Can You Guess Mara's Secret??

If the first picture doesn't give it away (can you read her shirt? It was the best shot I could get, she's always on the go!), I'm sure the second one does!

I'm pregnant! Jay and I are expecting our 2nd child in early March 2010. Maybe we'll even end up with a February baby! Ok, not likely :) My official due date right now is March 4th, but I'm guessing baby will come after that.

I'm almost 15 weeks, and still not feeling great. I was hopeful that this pregnancy would be a little easier for me, but haven't had that luck yet. I have been nauseous since about 6 weeks, and actually vomiting quite a bit this time around. I do ok and can manage it pretty well for the most part. One thing I'm grateful for is that I haven't gotten migraines this time around (believe me, I'm knocking on wood right now). When I was pregnant with Mara that was the worst part - I had them almost constantly from about 9-15 weeks. I have had a few headaches this time, but nothing as bad. I'm cautiously optimistic that I'm starting to get a little energy back. I'm hopeful that some of this nausea will go away soon too. Fingers crossed! It's been a little hard keeping up with Mara some days, but I think I've been doing pretty well, considering.

We're excited and terrified to have two children. :)
